'Sweet' Little Red

'Sweet' because she is made from sweets.
Last night I did a children's workshop using sweets to print and this was my demonstration piece. We had great fun making a variety of marks from different sweets like liquorice allsorts, wine gums, super sour snakes and strawberries. It was much better than eating them, though I have to say many disappeared!

I am still working with my monoprints, this time I digitally collaged them to make a dancing Little Red Riding Hood and Wolf.

In a forest . . .

In a forest of doilies and artificial flowers, a rubber band Little Red and a comb-clawed wolf tip toe through the undergrowth.
Squeezed in a further monoprint collage today it has sat arranged on my desk between jobs, waiting for attention and tweaks before being secured to the paper.

I have been at a course organised by Picture Hooks at the National Galleries of Scotland all weekend, attending a workshop with George Douglas organised by Picture Hooks. The time was mostly spent monoprinting, but in the last couple of hours the monoprints we had made were constructed into collages. This is my wolf, I loved the freedom and possibilities that these media offered and its distinctly strange and surreal results, definitely a technique I will return to when I get the chance.
