There is not even a date given to this series of hand coloured etchings but I have gone with 1880's because of Little Red Riding Hood's distinctive hat and shoes. I really like to see the differences in style in these early illustrations and subtle nuances of the story's interpretation at different times.

Helene Dekker

 

This edition of Grimm's Fairytales was published by Follett in 1968 and illustrated by children from around the world. Little Red was illustrated by Helene Dekker (1955-   ) was aged thirteen in 1968 and lived in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). 

Janusz Grabianski

Jamie Tobin

 

A paper cut character that screamed Red Riding Hood to me, from the creative mind and hands that is Jamie Tobin. Tough Jamie says it is a fox catcher, I see it more as the grandmother of Little Red.

The above hand coloured version was reprinted in “Little Red Riding-Hood.” Histories or Tales of Past Times Written for Children, Told By Mother Goose with Morals, Charles Perrault, illustrator not attributed, republished by The Nonesuch Press in 1925, though it looks like a direct copy of Antoine Clouzier's. 'Red Gravure', etching from Charles Perrault's Histoires ou contes du temps passé, avec des moralités: 1697 Contes de ma mère l'Oye.
