Vered Gersztenkorn

Vered Gersztenkorn  I am not sure if this is Little Red Riding Hood, but the red stripe across the bottom of the composition makes it feel very LRRH to me. Vered is a self taught Israeli artist inspired by ArtBrut and children's art works.

Doron Sahari

Fig 1 (above): Doron Sahari, 'Bon Appetit'.

Doron Sahari's 'Bon Appetit' acrylic on canvas, appealed to me greatly when I first ever started to collect Red Riding Hood imagery, it is still one of my favourites.
"I created this image for an exhibition on the topic of 'Child Heroes in Children’s Literature', held in Israel several years ago. I  chose Red Riding Hood because it is a classic tale with which everyone is familiar. I thus felt  certain that, although I handled the topic symbolically and disconnected the characters from the conventional environment , the situation and the scene I described would be immediately recognizable."
